Bringing Day of the Dead to life

The concept for the campaign design celebrating Day of the Dead looks to the ofrenda (altar), central to the celebrations.

Altars are often elaborately decorated, including objects and decorations representing the four elements, earth, water, air, fire. And the scent of marigolds to guide spirits home.

Importantly the altar offers a space for people to remember and celebrate people and times spent. During Día de Muertos Wahaca creates a space to celebrate and remember.

La Ofrenda

The visual language of the campaign came to life across multiple channels including restaurant menus and marketing assets, window manifestations, a web homepage takeover, illustrated kids activity and temporary tattoos.

The celebrations

Increasing curb appeal

Windows across the Wahaca estate were decorated with graphic elements. The external takeovers created eye catching moments and increased Wahaca’s presence for the duration of the campaign.
